Its Soooooo Easy To Become An NCP!
The application is a simple 1-page document! And membership is open to ANYONE . . . . . those who have just begun in the industry or those that are veterans!
You can join as a Candidate, NCP, or even an NCP-Executive!
All you have to do is complete a simple NCP Membership Application ... I promise it is simple ... just 1 page long! .... indicating how you meet the two membership requirements - a Knowledge requirement and an Experience requirement.
There are 3 ways to meet the Knowledge Requirement:

Pass the National Compliance Exam;
-
Pass either Spectrum Seminar's C3P or the National Association of Home Builder's HCCP test; or
-
Successfully earn your
Compliance Diploma which is earned when you have accrued 22 course
credits by taking live workshops through the Housing Credit College
and/or the Housing Credit
Online Training Center.
To meet the Experience Requirement you must demonstrate you have 6 months or more experience working directly with the Tax Credit Program. To accomplish this task, all you have to do is summarize your experience on our easy-to-complete Membership Application!

Even if you just started in the industry or don't plan on taking a test for sometime or haven't completed
enough courses to earn 22 course credits yet -- you too can receive the benefits of the NCP Membership Group as an NCP-Candidate!!
3 Designations Levels of National Compliance Professionals
There are 3 ways to become a National Compliance Professional™ and to join
the NCP Membership Group. The designations include:
- NCP
- NCP-Candidate
- NCP-Executive
The NCP-Candidate is an entry level designation for those
individuals who are new to the Industry and have minimal experience with the Tax
Credit Program. The NCP-Executive designation is an advanced level designation
for those individuals who have extensive knowledge and experience with the Tax
Credit Program. Individuals may join the NCP Membership Group at any level and
upgrade their designations as their knowledge and experience increase.
NCP
The National Compliance Professional or NCP designation is earned by meeting
2 Requirements:
- a Knowledge Requirement and
- an Experience Requirement.
Once
these Requirements are met, the individual must complete the appropriate form -
(if applying as a new member the individual should complete the NCP Application;
if upgrading from the NCP-Candidate status the individual should complete the
NCP Upgrade Form) - pay the Membership Fee of $99 and submit all to the National
Compliance Professional Membership Group for processing and approval.
Knowledge Requirement:
An individual can meet the Knowledge Requirement in 1 of 3 different ways:
- Pass the Housing Credit College's National Compliance Exam;.
- Earn your Compliance Diploma;
- Pass either the National Association of Home Builder's HCCP or Spectrum
Seminar's C3P tests
The individual only has to meet 1 of the 3 requirements. Two of the choices
means passing an exam or test; the other choice does not require the passing of
an Exam however it does require the individual to earn the Tax Credit
Diploma.
The Compliance Diploma is earned by accruing 22 course credits through the
Housing Credit Online Training Center or any hosted live workshops through the
Housing Credit College. The
Housing Credit Online
Training Center has a full array of courses available 24/7 and are
accessible on any computer with high-speed internet access. Live workshops are
also occasionally available and are posted at on our
website when scheduled.
Course credits do not expire nor does it matter which courses you took as long
as they are different courses.
Experience Requirement:
The Experience Requirement is achieved when the individual has 6 months or
more experience working with the Tax Credit Program. This experience can be
accumulated in management, compliance, development, financing or other related
sectors of the Tax Credit field but must be experienced earned dealing directly
with the Tax Credit Program.

NCP-Candidate
The National Compliance Professional-Candidate or NCP-Candidate is an entry
level designation and can be achieved by anyone prior to meeting the Experience
Requirement and/or Knowledge Requirement. Individuals interested in joining the
NCP Membership Group that have not yet met these Requirements can still join as
an NCP-Candidate. NCP-Candidates are eligible for all the benefits of the NCP
Membership Group accept the NCP Pin and Certificate.
To become an NCP-Candidate, the individual should complete the NCP
Application, pay the $99 Membership Fee and submit all to the Housing Credit
College for processing.
Once the individual meets both the Knowledge Requirement and the Experience
Requirement, he should complete the NCP Upgrade Form and submit it to the
Housing Credit College for processing. Once the Upgrade Form is processed, the
individual will be notified of their upgrade status and will receive their
complete NCP Membership Kit which includes their NCP Pin and Certificate.
For Those Individuals with Extensive Knowledge and Experience, the NCP
Membership Group has a Separate Designation to Honor Your Achievements!

NCP-Executive
The National Compliance Professional-Executive or NCP-Executive is an
advanced level designation and can be achieved by those individuals who meet a
higher Knowledge Requirement.
Individuals who:
- Pass ONE of the
major industry exams...

the National Compliance Exam;
OR
-
the National Association of
Home Builder's HCCP test; OR
-
Spectrum Seminar's C3P test
AND
and are eligible for this advanced status.
To become an NCP-Executive, individuals should complete the appropriate forms
- (if applying as a new member the individual should complete the NCP
Application; if upgrading from the NCP-Candidate or NCP status the individual
should complete the NCP Upgrade Form) -, pay the Membership Fee of $99 and
submit all to the Housing Credit College for processing.

Applying to the NCP Membership Group

Complete the Membership Application
Complete the simple 1 page Membership
Application and fax or mail it to Windy Houser, NCP Membership Group
Coordinator for approval. Upon approval, we will send you your NCP Membership
Kit.
REMEMBER: You may submit an
application even if you have not yet both the Knowledge and Experience
Requirements. You will be joining as an NCP-Candidate.

Pay Membership Fee
The membership fee is $99 per year. Memberships expire on December 31 of each
year and must be renewed annually. Individuals applying for membership after
September 1 can secure the current year membership and the next year's
membership for $149.

NCP Membership Application vs. NCP Upgrade:

New Applicants: Individuals meeting these requirements and NOT YET a
member of the NCP Membership Group should complete the NCP
Membership Application and
submit it to the Housing Credit College for approval. When completing the NCP
Application, the individual should indicate ALL Knowledge Requirements that have
been met.

NCP-Candidates or NCPs: Individuals meeting these requirements THAT ARE
ALREADY a member of the NCP Membership Group as an NCP-Candidate or an NCP
should complete the NCP Upgrade Form and submit it to the Housing Credit College
to upgrade their designation status. When completing the NCP Upgrade Form, the
individual should indicate the new requirement(s) that have been met that make
him eligible for the next status level.
